Gayle passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

Gayle Darlene (Shipps) Lamb was born June 5, 1929, in Overbrook Kansas to Earl Shipps and Ellanora (Nellie) Leuf Shipps. Gayle worked in the telephone office when she was younger and was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Lamb on September 5th, 1952. Gayle and Bob had four children Dale (Bim), Nancy, Kathy, and Wes. Gayle helped her husband Bob run many businesses including Bob's Tavern, Elliott Café, and Lamb Construction and Trucking. In her free time, she babysat her grandkids, did cross stitch, and word search puzzles, and raised large flower beds and vegetable gardens.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Dale (Bim) Lamb, daughter Nancy (Lamb) Gilleland and husband Lewis, daughter Kathy Lamb, son Wesley Lamb and wife Candice. Nine Grandkids Jeremy and Lori Gilleland of Elliott, IA, Lyndsey and Dustin Lamb-Ohmstede of Urbandale, IA, Ashley and Brian Parish of Polk City, IA, Whitney and Cody Staton of Clearfield, IA, Shelby Jenkins, Callie Lamb of Des Moines, IA, and Michela Lamb of Des Moines, IA. Her In-laws Jerry Peter, Nate Lamb, and Martha and husband Ron Andrews. Ten great grandkids and numerous cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob"' Lamb, mother Nellie Shipps and father Earl Shipps, brother Garland Shipps, twin brother Dale Shipps and sister Joanne Peter.

She was a loving, devoted wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother and our hero. She will be missed dearly.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Coffee for Gayle at the Elliott Community Building in Elliott, lowa on August 9th, 2025 from 2 to 4pm for family and friends to gather and remember Gayle.
