F. Duane Kirchner, 66, of Grant, IA, died Friday afternoon, April 9, 2010, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.

Francis Duane Kirchner was born at Creston, IA on January 10, 1944, the son of Francis Leonard and Mary Patricia (Liston) Kirchner. He grew up in the Marne and Atlantic areas and attended Atlantic schools. In 1961 he was married to Judy Juhler and later was married to Marlene Hansen and those marriages ended in divorce. On March 2, 2000, he married Angela Y. Franklin in Atlantic. Duane has been a resident of Grant since 1985 and was employed as a truck driver for Henningsen Construction Company in Atlantic.

Duane's parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Angie of Grant; his children, Ricky Lee Kirchner and wife Tressa of Atlantic, David Duane Kirchner and wife Marsha of Atlantic, Amanda Rose Michaels and husband Scott of West Plains, MO and Francis Daniel Kirchner of Grant, his 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother Billy LeRoy Kirchner of Atlantic and his sister Debra Ann Streiler and husband James of Jackson, MO.

Funeral services will be held at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM. The family will meet relatives and friends in a time of visitation beginning at 9:30 that morning. Following the services, cremation will take place.
