Eva Marie Kullbom

Eva Marie Kullbom, the daughter of Thomas and Cynthia (McClung) Moxley, was born August 8, 1917 at Carson, IA and died May 23, 2011 at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Oakland at the age of 93 years, 9 months, and 15 days.

Eva was united in marriage to Lloyd L. Kullbom on February 1, 1936 at Council Bluffs. They lived on a farm near Wheeler Grove Church where they farmed and raised livestock. In 1972, they moved to Oakland. Lloyd died on November 2, 1984. Eva maintained her home in Oakland until August of 2006, when she moved to the Oakland Manor Nursing Home.

Eva was a member of the Wheeler Grove Church, where she had served as a bible school teacher, was active in the women's fellowship, and had been the church organist for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, watching NASCAR, and golf. She especially enjoyed watching Fred Couples play. Eva was also a member of the Friday Book Club and the Merry Mothers Club.

Eva is preceded in death by her husband; her son John Lloyd; and her parents.

She is survived by her special friends Lois and Richard Star of Omaha and their children, Dawn Mcintosh and husband Michael and daughter Stella all of Omaha, and Jason Star and wife Kathy and their children Zachary and Madeline of Chicago; and her foster children: Richard, Patty, Mike, Ruth, Tony, Jene, Cindy, Ronnie, and Carol. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Wheeler Grove Church. Interment will be at the Wheeler Grove Cemetery. Open visitation will be held at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home On Thursday. The family will be present from 6-7:30 PM. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
