Enos Dawson

Enos Omer Dawson, the son of Waller Parker and Ellen Sedonia (Farmer) Dawson was born April 5, 1914 at Hana, Mo and died May 3, 2012 at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home at Oakland, IA at the age of 98 years and 28 days.

Enos was baptized at Hana, MO. On August 7, 1935 he was united in marriage to Wilma Murrell. They moved from Hana to a farm near Walnut Creek in 1940. They lived is several different places until they settled in Oakland in 1969. Enos lived at home, until he moved to Oakland Manor Nursing Home in 2004.

Enos was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing large sunflowers and grafting trees. He liked fishing, square dancing, trapping, and riding horses.
He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and twelve brothers and sisters.

Enos is survived by his children: Sharon Brown and husband Loren of Oakland, IA, Wayne Dawson and wife Lynn of Cresent, IA, and Ruby Jewett of Lebanon, MO; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Carson Cemetery at Carson. Visitation with the family will be held at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home from 6-7:30 PM on Monday. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
