Obituary

Elnor Whitsitt, age 95, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on May 16, 1919 in Walnut, Iowa to her parents, Walter and Marie Krueger.

On May 25, 1943 Elnor was united in marriage to Forrest Whitsitt. They farmed near Oakland. Elnor taught piano lessons to many children in and around Oakland and also played the organ for the Oakland Congregational Church.

Elnor was known for her amazing cooking skills. There was always a spread of homemade baked goods at all of the piano recitals, and the famers loved volunteering at their farm because of the great food. Elnor was very supportive of her children and attended all of their music and sporting events. She loved taking movies of the events and was often seen with a movie camera and bright lights. She enjoyed gardening and canning, and always had lovely flowers blooming around the farm. Elnor had a relentless work ethic and was often heard saying "Busy hands are happy hands" and "Many lighten the load". In their retirement, Elnor and Forrest enjoyed traveling and spending time at their cabin in the Lake of the Ozarks. Elnor loved hosting parties and hosted many birthday parties, wedding showers, baby showers, recitals, and graduation parties. Most of all, Elnor was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family always came first.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Forrest Whitsitt and her sister, Esther Pierce.

Elnor is survived by her children: Joyce Brannon of San Antonio, TX;
Janelle Scott of Normal, IL; Dr. Kevan Whitsitt and his wife, Ellen of Columbia, MO; Karla Wentworth and her husband, Jeff of San Antonio, TX; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, with another on the way.

Elnor, you will be missed, but your time here on Earth was well spent. Now you are in Heaven, at a party that you for once, are not hosting!!!
