Eileen Leora Haines
Eileen Leora Haines, the daughter of Ocie and Goldie (Brundidge) Rollins, was born July 7, 1921 at Carson, IA and died February 21, 2013 at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Oakland, at the age of 91 years, 7 months, and 14 days.
Eileen attended Oak Grove Country School until the eighth grade. On December 22, 1940 she was united in marriage to Virgil Walter Haines at the Broadway United Methodist Church in Council Bluffs. They moved to Carson where they farmed for several years, before moving close to Oakland to farm in 1953. They lived on the farm until 1984, when they moved in to Oakland. Virgil died on July 23, 2004. Eileen continued to live at home until 2006, when she moved to Oakland Heights Assisted Living.
Eileen was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church, the Oakland Saddle Club, Hobby Club, was active in the Farm Bureau, and had volunteered many hours at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and dancing.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers Orland and Harold; her sister-in-law Lois; and her brother-in-law Berwyn.
She is survived by her sons, Roger Haines and wife Connie of Oakland, IA and Randall Haines and wife Linda of Lakeland, FL; her grandchildren: Greg Haines, Tammy (Chris) Eubanks, Aaron (Jessie) Tremel, Jacob Haines, Taylor (John) Cody, Loral (Keven) Goodman, Jason Haines, Heather (Travis) Crain, Courtney Haines; and her great grandchildren: Jordan, Shane, & Ella Rose Tremel, Mattie & Meg Haines, Cayne Cody, Ella & Cooper Crain, McKenna and Kyla Goodman; her sister Erma Cleaveland of Oakland; and her sister-in-law Lavonne Rollins of Treynor. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Oakland United Methodist Church, 200 Main St., Oakland, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 6:00-7:30 PM at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
