Doris Louise Evans, the daughter of Leo and Clara (Burtcheard) Nolte, was born September 8, 1929, in rural Cass County.  Doris died, November 2, 2021, at the Allen Place in Atlantic, IA, at the age of 92 years, 1 month, and 25 days.

Doris attended country school before graduating from Atlantic High School on May 23, 1947.  On the same day she graduated, she was united in marriage to Robert Evans.  Three children were born to this union:  Kathy, Kenny, and Julie.  Doris and Bob lived on several different farms before settling on the family farm in 1954, where they remained active in farm life until they were in their eighties..  They lived on the farm until several weeks ago when they moved to Atlantic.

Doris was a member of the Griswold Central Church of Christ.  She had been a member of the Friendly Neighborhood Club.  She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, and especially loved decorating cakes and cookies. She sold Tupperware for over 30 years where she met a lot of people and made many life long friends. She loved spending time with her family and thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Doris is preceded in death by her son, Kenny; her parents; her brother Don; her sisters Marlene and Judy; and her special nephew Ron Swope.

She is survived by her husband Robert of Atlantic, IA; her daughters, Kathy Butler and husband Gail of Atlantic, IA, and Julie Tjepkes and husband Curt of Grundy Center, IA; her daughter-in-law Charlotte Evans of Griswold, IA; her grandchildren Jeremy Butler and wife Billie, Jill Leonard and husband Doug, Leah Schmidt and husband Paul, Ryan Evans and wife Jessie, Katie Kelly and husband Doug, Trent Burg and wife Pilar, Thad Burg, and Adam Burg and wife April; seventeen great grandchildren; and her special niece Madeline Roberts.  She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 2:00 PM, at the Griswold Central Church of Christ.  Visitation with the family will be on Friday, at the Griswold Central Church of Christ, from 12:30 PM until the time of the service.  Interment will be in Flint Cemetery.  Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is assisting the family.
