Dora Mae Bourrette, the 14 th child of John and Louise (Perret) McCulloch, was born April 1, 1927, in Stanton, NE.  She died October 28, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society in Villisca, IA, at the age of 90 years, 6 months, and 27 days.

On May 20, 1950, Dora was united in marriage to Harold Ernest "Ernie" Bourrette in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Jackson, NE.  In their years together, they lived in Sioux City, IA, Omaha, NE, Treynor, IA, Vallejo, CA, and Rock Springs, WY, before Ernie retired in 1987. After retirement, he and Dora traveled the United States for several years.  In 1989, they moved to rural Elliott.  Ernie died April 3, 1997.  Dora lived at home until May, when she moved to Villisca.

Dora enjoyed collecting rocks, which was a joy that was passed down to her children.  Many favorite family recipes came from her kitchen.  She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely.  Dora and Ernie loved visiting family and friends and enjoyed tent camping with their children when they were young.  In later years they enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, and visited all but a few states.   Dora and Ernie made many friends square dancing in the community.  Dora was a devout Catholic whose strong faith carried her through many challenges in life, including the death of her youngest child, Donna, to Leukemia, and her own battle with cancer, surviving lymphoma twice in her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband; her daughter Donna; her daughter-in-law Kathy Bourrette; and 13 siblings.
