Donald (Donnie) Hendricks, son of Kent and Gladys (Eggers) Hendricks, was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on January 18, 1943. He died on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 24 days.
Donnie grew up on the family farm and attended school in Carson until the tenth grade. His family then moved to Whittier, CA, where Donnie finished high school. He worked for Calmat driving a truck for 28 years. After retiring on January 20, 1995, Donnie returned to Carson. On October 14, 1995 he was united in marriage to Kathleen McMartin. Donnie started working at the Riverside School, in the lunch program. He then started driving a bus for the Riverside School District.
Donnie was a member of the Carson United Methodist Church. He had represented the church 21 times at the annual conference. Donnie had been on the Carson City Council for over 18 years, and had just been elected to serve another term. He was very active within the Riverside School and attended as many events as possible.
Donnie is survived by his wife Kathy; his children: Paul Hendricks and special friend Teri of Phoenix, AZ, Deana and husband Matt Wilson of Las Vegas, NV, Jackie and husband Kenny Moore of Oakland, IA, Donald Hendricks II of Council Bluffs, IA and Kent Hendricks of Lincoln, NE; his daughters-in-law, Tricia Hendricks and Debra Hendricks; his grandchildren: Tiffany and husband Dave, Steven and special friend Linda, Madalenn, Josh, Kyle, Devyn, Nolan, Taven, Rilyn, Kylee, Denton, Kaiden, Karson, Kandra, and Kent; his great grandchildren, Chase and Taylor; and his brother Dwight Hendricks and wife Elaine of Whittier, CA.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Kenny; his son Denton; and his grandson Kobe.
