Donald Dean Dreyer
Donald Dean Dreyer, the son of Marvin and Minnie (Blevins) Dreyer, was born September 16, 1935 in Oakland, IA and died November 11, 2014 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, in Omaha, NE, at the age of 79 years, 1 month, and 26 days.
Donald attended school at Oakland, graduating from Oakland High School with the class of 1951. After graduating, he enlisted in the Air Force. After being discharged, he returned to Oakland. On May 21, 1962 he was united in marriage to Daisy Anna League. They lived in several different places before settling in Fremont, NE in the early 80's. Daisy died April 27, 2011. Donald continued to live at home until the time of his death.
Donald enjoyed fishing and camping. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Daisy; his parents; and his brother Gary.
He is survived by his son Gary Dreyer and wife Rojean of Oakland; his grandchildren: Courtney Carbis and husband Frank of Early, IA and Ashton Dreyer and his fiancée Ann Smith of Bellevue, NE; his sister Rae Jean Namanny and husband Ed of Oakland, IA; his brother Roger Dreyer and wife Ruth Ann of Edmond, OK; and his sister-in-law Carol Dreyer of Oakland, IA. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Oakland Christian Church. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30 PM at the Oakland Christian Church in Oakland. Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery. Rieken Vieth funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
