Dolores Diane "Dee" Goetch, the daughter of Merrill and Lois (Brown) Bolton, was born August 4, 1934 at Carson, IA and died November 5, 2014 at Brookings, SD at the age of 80 years, 3 months, and 1 day.


Dee graduated from Griswold High School with the class of 1951. Dee lived in Michigan and Florida, before graduating from Iowa Teachers College. Dee moved to Cresco, IA where she started the Peter Pan Preschool; the first preschool ever in Iowa. Dee continued her career in education for the next 42 years as a teacher and administrator in Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri. Dee retired to Griswold in 1996 and then moved to Brookings, SD six years ago to be with her daughter Diane.


Dee loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing scrabble, bridge, and reading. Dee liked to travel and had visited all fifty states, Spain, and Mexico.


She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bobby.


She is survived by her children, Diane Rieken and husband George of Brookings, SD and Jim Goetch and wife Alisa of EauClaire, WI; her brother Randy Bolton and wife Margaret of Bettendorf, IA; her grandchildren: TJ Goetch and wife Jeaning, Justin Rieken and wife Talitha; Jamie Rieken, and Aaron Goetch; and her great grandchildren: Max, Zoe, and Thunder.


Visitation for Dee will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold. A procession will take place at 2:00 from the Duhn Funeral Home to the Carson Carson Cemetery in Carson. Graveside services will held at 2:30 PM.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2:30 PM, at the Carson Cemetery in Carson, IA. Visitation with the family will be held at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold on Saturday from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. At 2:00 a procession will go to the Carson Cemetery. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
