Dolores P. Courcier, 83, of Griswold, IA, died early Saturday morning, August 18, 2012 at the Griswold Care Center.
Dolores Pearl Graham was born at Council Bluffs, IA, on August 30, 1928, the daughter of Elisha T. and Cuba S. (Bates) Graham. She attended school in Council Bluffs until the third grade and the family moved to Griswold and she attended Griswold schools. On August 26, 1950, she married Wm. A. "Stub" Courcier at Elliott, IA. They lived at Griswold and raised their two daughters, Betty and Sue. Dee was a member of the Griswold United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary. Dee entered the care center in 2007.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stub on August 11, 1986 and a sister Betty Hildebrant.
Survivors include her daughters Betty Johnson of La Vista, NE, and Sue Davis of Red Oak, IA; her four grandchildren Jon Johnson of Omaha, NE, Jay Johnson of Papillion, NE, Jennifer Roberts of Stanton, IA and Jessica Sundberg of Red Oak, IA as well as several great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Virginia Pendgraft of Council Bluffs and her brother Jack Graham of Lebanon, TN.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Pleasant Township Cemetery south of Griswold, Pastor Dwight Grosvenor officiating. Relatives and friends will gather at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold beginning at 10:00 AM Tuesday and we will go in procession to the cemetery. Open visitation will be at the funeral home after noon on Monday.
