Diane Mary Brittain, the daughter of John Joseph and Lillian Mary (Bissonette) Shadick, was born April 22, 1946, in Rhinelander, WI.  She died July 19, 2024, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, IA, at the age of 78 years, 2 months, and 27 days.

In April of 1979, she married Charles Brittain and the couple settled in Iowa, where they resided for the last 25 years.  During her working years, she worked as a seamstress at Delong's in Atlantic, IA, until her retirement.

Diane loved camping in the summer months and looked forward to Charles catching a nice fish to fillet and cook.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

She is survived by her husband Charles; sons Tom  Sayer (Edna) of California, and John  Sayer (Deb) of Michigan; daughter Donna Hedman (Steaks) of Iowa; step-daughter Melissa Weitman; step-son Charles Brittain Jr.; grandchildren: Taren, Austin, Matthew, Allen (Samantha) and Brian (Naomi) Sayer, Scottie and Joe (Taylor) Rose; 12 grandchildren; and many more relatives and friends.

All services are private.  Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is assisting the family.
