Obituary

David D. Bishop, the son of George Earnest and Mette Marie (Eastergaurd) Bishop, was born September 24, 1946 in Griswold, IA. He died January 10, 2017 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, IA at the age of 70 years, 3 months, and 16 days.


David attended school in Griswold, graduating from Griswold High School with the class of 1964. After graduating, he enlisted in the Navy, where he served on the USS Everglades. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Griswold. On August 2, 1970, he was united in marriage to Vickii Kuhns. David worked at Phillips 66 for several years before going to work at Wyman's Ford in Griswold. David worked at Wyman's until he retired.


David enjoyed spending time at his fire pit. He liked camping, riding his bike, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes.


He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Joan.


He is survived by his wife Vickii Bishop of Griswold; his daughter Kim Bishop of Griswold; his son Chris Bishop and wife Shannon of Griswold; his grandchildren: Kegan, Paige, and Ashley; his sister Vicki Larock; and his brother Richard Bishop. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.


A memorial service for David will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Griswold Central Church of Christ. Interment will be at a later date. If you are attending the memorial service, you are encouraged to dress casually.  Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
