Obituary

Chris Bischof, the son of Don and Marilyn Bischof, was born on September 16, 1954, at St. Mary's Hospital in East St Louis, IL.  He died July 24, 2023, at Oakland Manor, in Oakland, IA, at the age of 68 years, 10 months, and 8 days on this earth, mostly.

Growing up Chris lived in Quincy, IL and Mt Vernon, IL and attended grade school in Grand Rapid, MI and Allison Park, PA.  He graduated from John F. Kennedy Memorial High School in Manchester, MO in 1972.

Chris had a variety of business endeavors.  He started with C. Bischof Painting & Decorating in Camdenton, MO.  After that he went "on the road" to trade shows around the country first selling his "Marbleware" (tie dyed tuxedos) and then later Nikken Magnetic-ware and Personal Wellness products.  His last few employment years were a perfect match, he delivered specialty vehicles (which varied widely by makes+years, mainly ALTEC BUCKET trucks) all across the US.

Chris did take time to enjoy life.  He relished his spa and massages.  Like his father, he was blessed with athletic ability.  He played racquetball and golf, was an outstanding water skier and avid snow skier.

But most of all Chris loved PEOPLE.  He was very close to his mother, Marilyn, and 5 brothers and sisters. He had an Irish Setter named Sean. He was especially close to his twin brother Keith, helping Keith to relocate in various St. Louis county locations, to MIZZOU-Columbia, Irving, Texas and southwest Iowa. Chris bought a 14' trampoline for the family and was a constant help with Keith's various Iowa interior/exterior home improvement projects which also included renovating an antique wooden Chris Craft boat.

When Chris entered the room, it was not long before he was engaged with everyone.  He never knew a stranger.

In high school Chris had made friends with a foreign exchange student and was determined to visit him in Bogota, Columbia (South America).  Chris and a buddy hitchhiked down to Florida to fly to Bogata.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Mary Stoede.

He is survived by his siblings: Craig (Karen) Bischof of Osage Beach, MO, his twin brother Keith Bischof of Clarinda, IA, Nancy Bischof-Kincheloe of Linn Creek, MO and John K. T. Bischof, M.D. (David Hidalgo) of Portland, OR.

He was affectionately known as "Uncle Dude" by his nieces and nephews: Eric Bischof, Matt Bischof, Jonovan Hargiss, Marilyn Dobson, Christopher Bischof, Leela Stoede, Brock Kincheloe, Kelly Kincheloe, Kal Kincheloe, and Arica Kincheloe.

Life will be a little less interesting with his passing.

A graveside remembrance will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Belleville, IL at a future date.
