Cheryl Lynn Zimmerman's Obituary
Cheryl Lynn Zimmerman, the daughter of Bernard Lee and Eleanor Lucy (Weirich) High, was born April 15, 1959, in Creston, IA. She died July 6, 2018, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, IA, at the age of 59 years, 2 months, and 21 days.
Cheryl graduated from Griswold High School with the class of 1977. On March 18, 1981, she was united in marriage to Larry Dean Zimmerman. Four children were born to this union: Nichole, Melanie, Stacy, and Katie. They lived in Massena until 2007, when Cheryl moved back to Griswold, to care for her mother. Cheryl had worked at several different places, including: Walmart, Orscheln's, Casey's General Store, and most recently the Griswold Care Center.
Cheryl loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Black Hills.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Kathy High.
She is survived by her daughters: Nichole Zimmerman and spouse Damian Burress of Shelby, IA, Melanie Zimmerman of Griswold, IA, Stacy Zimmerman of Coralville, IA, and Katie Zimmerman of Griswold, IA; her grandchildren: Laura, Rebecca, Maggie, Victor, Andrea, Oliver, and Gavin; her brother Ed High and wife LaDonna of Ft. Dodge, IA; and her estranged brother, Russ and family from Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Griswold Community Building in Griswold, Iowa on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
