Caroll Wallace Johnson, the son of Clifford Wallace and Velma Marie (Inman) Johnson was born January 2, 1929 in Walnut, IA and died March 29, 2015 at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Oakland, IA at the age of 86 years, 2 months, and 27 days.

Caroll attended country school near Minden.  After finishing school, he helped his dad on the farm and worked as a hired hand.  On August 21, 1950 he was united in marriage to Margaret Ann Shanno at the Oakland Christian Church.  In 1951, Caroll was drafted into the Army.  After being honorably discharged in 1953, he returned to Iowa.  He and Margaret lived in the Oakland area and Caroll worked several different places helping farm and doing mechanic work.  After Caroll's retirement, they moved to Texas for a short time before returning to Oakland in 1991.

Caroll was a member of the Oakland Christian Church.  He loved to mow and do word searches.

Carroll is preceded in death by his son Rodney; his parents; his brother-in-law Merlin Dau; and his son-in-law Delmar Larsen.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Johnson of Oakland; his daughter Carol Larsen of Oakland; his sons, Lloyd Johnson and Ronnie Lee Johnson of Council Bluffs, IA; his grandchildren: Amy Marie, Eric William, and Melissa Ann; his brothers Leland Johnson and wife Beverly and Bernard Johnson and wife Naomi; and his sister Deloris Dau.  He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:30 AM at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland.  Visitation with the family will start at 11:00 AM on Wednesday.  Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Oakland.  Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
