Carolyn Diane Hall McJunkin was born September 8, 1948, in Council Bluffs, IA, to Liston Marion and Mary Dorothy (Tipp) Hall. She died June 20, 2019, at her home in Oakland, IA, at the age of 70 years, 8 months, and 23, days.
Carolyn grew up in Carson, IA, and graduated from Carson-Macedonia High School in 1966. She attended Iowa Western Community College after graduation. Carolyn was united in marriage to Robert Leroy McJunkin of Oakland, IA in 1968. To this marriage three children were born: Robert Michael, Chalene Renea, and Cherise Linsay.
Carolyn was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church, and a past member of P.E.O. and Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading classics, mysteries, and fictional novels. She liked gardening, sewing and crafting, and visiting family.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband Robert in October of 2004; her parents; her brothers: Douglas Hall (2012), and two infant brothers, Liston and Jerry; and an infant sister Dorothy Jane.
She is survived by her son Robert M. McJunkin and wife Taulbee of San Tan Valley, AZ; her daughters, Chalene Arden and husband Mike of Westminster, CO, and Cherise Sparks and husband Thomas of Glendale, AZ; her grandchildren: Carter Sweat, Ally McJunkin, Keenan Sparks, Robby McJunkin, Cecilia Arden, Bryson Sparks, and Christopher Arden; her brother John Hall and wife Karen; and her Sisters in law Madeleine Hall and Rosalie Nilan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Monday, June 24, 2019, at 10:30 AM, at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, from 3-5 PM, at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
