Carol Jean Johnson of Greensboro, MD, died Friday, January 24, 2014, at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, MD. She was 72 years old.

Born and raised in Griswold, Iowa, Ms. Johnson was the daughter of the late Dr. Carl George Johnson and Ethel Irene Ellis Johnson. She had lived near Greensboro since 1990. Ms. Johnson had been a Staff Manager and Analyst for computer programs for AT&T. She retired and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

An avid sailor, photographer, and golfer, she loved the outdoors. She was a member of the Talbot Evangelistic Church in Trappe, MD.

Ms. Johnson is survived by her brother, Ronald L. Johnson and his wife Liz of Rapid City, SD; two nieces, Cynthia Johnson and Cathy Zastrow; one nephew, Carl Johnson; 9 great nieces and nephews; and her friend, Carol Mahr of Greensboro.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold. Interment will be at the Griswold Cemetery. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
