Carman Marie O'Dell's Obituary
Carman Marie O'Dell, the daughter of Harrel Dean and Marian Dorothy (Pash) Dowling, was born March 14, 1968 in Giddings, TX and died March 16, 2015 in Elliott, IA at the age of 47 years.
Carman attended school in Scottsdale, AZ. On April 10, 2007 she was united in marriage to William O'Dell in Las Vegas, NV. They lived in Apache Junction, AZ for a short time before moving to Elliott, IA.
Carman was a Master Gardener and had a large garden every year. She enjoyed canning the vegetables that she harvested. She liked prospecting for gold. And she loved her two Yorkie dogs and two cats.
Carman is preceded in death by her grandparents.
She is survived by her husband William of Elliott, IA; her children: Jerry Vance and Curtis Vance of Arizona and Christopher Vance of Elliott; her parents Harrel Dowling and wife Deborah and Marian Dowling; her sister Shelly Snow of Arkansas; her brother Harrel Dennis Dowling of Arizona; her niece and nephew Tanya and Dusty Jones of Arkansas; and her mother-in-law, Jeri O'Dell of Griswold.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 6-7:30 PM at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold. Interment will be at Flint Cemetery. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
