Candise Bea Rink, the daughter of Harley Burdette and Bernice Pearl (Heiny) Nelson, was born August 4, 1948 in Albert Lee, Minnesota. She died January 24, 2017 at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 68 years, 5 months, and 25 days.

Candise attended school at Lake Mills, IA, graduating from Lake Mills High School. In 1977, she was united in marriage to Philip Rink. They moved to Van Meter, IA before moving to Griswold in 1989. Candise had worked at several different cafes and while in Griswold, she worked at Dusty's, A-Plus Designs, and as a bookkeeper at Shooter's Gun Store.

Candise enjoyed knitting, crocheting, working in her flower gardens, and playing cards. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Candise is preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Hope and Jackie.

She is survived by her husband Phil Rink of Griswold; her children: Brian Rink and wife Tracy of Atlantic, Sheri Vierkant and husband James of Sumner, IA, and Meghann Vasquez and husband Bobby of Council Bluffs, IA; her grandchildren: Aidan, Hayley, Kyra, Nelson, and Hazel; her sisters: LeAnn Hamilton, Francene Hermanson, Cheryl Johnson, and Bonnie Desautel; and her brother Ronald Nelson. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Griswold Community Building. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM at the Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold. Interment will be at a later date. Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
