BEVERLY ANN ROLLINS


Beverly Ann Rollins, the daughter of Murray and Gertrude (Brammann) Randall, was born May 24, 1933 at Avoca, IA and died March 16, 2011 at the Heritage House in Atlantic, IA at the age of 77 years, 9 months, and 20 days.


Beverly attended school at Avoca and graduated from Avoca High School. After graduation, she worked at the Avoca Creamery. On September 1, 1956 she was united in marriage to Larry Grant Rollins at Avoca. They made their home in Oakland and to this union, three daughters were born: Debra, Claudia, and Christi. Beverly worked as a cook for Oakland Community Schools for many years before retiring. She continued to maintain her home in Oakland until July of 2009, when she moved to the Heritage House in Atlantic.


Beverly was a member of the Oakland Christian Church where she had served as a Deacon, Deaconess, and with the ladies circle. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and puzzle books. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved attending their events.


She is preceded in death by her husband Larry on September 12, 1999, her parents, her sister Thelma, and her brothers: Howard, Raymond, and Robert.


Beverly is survived by her daughters: Debra Kester and husband Ralph of Oakland, Claudia Bryant and husband Doug of Avoca, and Christi Garrett and husband Kevin of Atlantic; her grandchildren: Randall and Amie Kester, Caleb and Joshua Bryant, and Nicole and Brett Garrett; her great grandchildren: Kevin, Tyler, Autumn, Ella, and Grant; her sister Sandra Randall; and her sisters-in-law: Frances Rollins, Ruth Benson, and Mabel Ann Randall. Beverly is also survived by many other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held at the Oakland Christian Church on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Earlin Shanno officiating. Open visitation will be held at the Oakland Christian church after 1:00 PM on Friday. Visitation with the family will be at the Oakland Christian Church on Friday from 6:00-7:30 PM. Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
