Belma Berle Dorsheimer's Obituary
Belma Berle Milne Dorsheimer, the second triplet daughter of Francis Joseph and Susie Fern (Freeman) Lembke, was born December 30, 1928 at the family farm west of Griswold, IA. She died November 12, 2015 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, IA at the age of 86 years.
Belma graduated the 8th grade from Alexander School #4; a one room school in Waveland Township. She then graduated from Griswold High School with the class of 1946. On April 13, 1949 she was united in marriage to Gerald Alexander Milne, at the Church Parsonage. One daughter was born to this Union, Madonna Kay. Gerald passed away March 31, 1990. On August 13, 1991 Belma married Duane Gerald Dorsheimer of Hawthorne, CA at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold. They made their home in Hawthorne, CA. Duane passed away July 11, 2003 at this home in Hawthorne. Belma returned to Griswold and maintained her home until a year ago, when she moved to the Griswold Care Center.
Belma was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Griswold and taught Sunday school for 26 years. Some years later she became a member of the Lawndale Christian Church in Lawndale, CA. On her return to Griswold, she again attended her "home church". She was a member of the Griswold Legion Auxiliary and also a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).
Belma is preceded in death by her two husbands; her parents; her triplet sister Thelma Merle in infancy; her sisters: Lorraine Edwards, Guinevere Hemphill, and Muriel Hooker; her brothers: Dale Lembke, Elton Lembke, and Marion Lembke; her brothers-in-law, Coryell Dorsheimer and Mayo Proctor; her sisters-in-law, Janet Dorsheimer Proctor, Nadine Dorsheimer Mahler, and Lois Dorsheimer; and her step great grandchild, Connor Jacobson.
She is survived by her daughter Madonna Jacobson and husband Gary of Griswold; her grandchildren, Creighton Alexander Milne Nelson and wife Sarah and Eve Alexandria Kwiatkowski; her great grandchildren, Britney Elizabeth Nelson and Alex Ray Nelson; her step sons, David Gregory Dorsheimer and wife Sheila of Fountain Valley, CA and Jerry Duane Dorsheimer and wife Sheila of Prescott Valley, AZ; her step daughter Diane Suzanne Dorsheimer Harris and husband Wayne of Dewey, AZ; her step grandchildren:
Amy Dorsheimer Baker and husband Ted, Brian Dorsheimer and wife Denise, Audra Harris Petsco, and Amber Harris Delgado and husband Juan, Joshua Dorsheimer, Rebekah Dorsheimer
, Todd Jacobson and wife Paula, Kristen Thoms and husband Antonio, Missy Wiechman; step great grandchildren: Cole and Will Baker, Taylor, Hailey, and Allison Petsco, Ava and Owen Dorsheimer, Duane Delgado, Tristan, Jace, Taya, Kyan Thoms, Evan and Isaac Jacobson, McKenna and Teegan Wiechman
; her sisters Gale Edwards of Kerman, CA, and Velma Powers of Griswold; and her sister-in-law Charlene Lembke of Essex, IA; and many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold. Interment will be at a later date. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
