Barbara Lea Huff, the daughter of Arthur and Wilma (Schaaf) Olesen, was born August 11, 1925 in Avoca, IA and died September 3, 2016 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE at the age of 91 years and 23 days.

Barbara attended school in Avoca and Oakland, graduating from the Oakland High School with the class of 1942. After graduation, she attended Van Sant School of Business in Omaha for two years. She then worked at Omaha National Bank in Omaha for a short time as a bank teller. On December 9, 1945 she was united in marriage to Donald Turner at the First Congregational Church in Oakland. Four children were born to this union: Debra, Peggy, Fred, and Kelly. They made their home in Oakland, Iowa and in 1954 they purchased a farm near Grant, IA where they raised livestock until they purchased a farm west of Oakland in 1962. Barb was a homemaker for many years raising their children and helping take care of her husband Don. Donald died on November 30, 1985. On October 8, 1988, Barb was united in marriage to Lowell Huff in Woodbine, IA. Lowell and Barb enjoyed traveling around the United States. Lowell died on March 16, 1998. Barbara continued to enjoy her home on the farm west of Oakland where she continued to reside until the time of her death.

Barbara was a member of the First Congregational Church in Oakland. In her younger years, Don and Barb enjoyed raising horses. She also enjoyed gardening, playing cards with her friends, and traveling to Council Bluffs for water aerobics at the senior center.

She is preceded in death by her husbands: Donald Turner and Lowell Huff; her daughters: Debra Walentine and Peggy Klutts; and her sister Dixie Olesen.

She is survived by her sons: Fred Turner of Oakland, IA, Dr. Kelly (Dawn) Turner of Oakland; her son-in-law Richard Walentine of Ft. Calhoun, NE; her grandchildren: Meghan (Troy) Anderson of Guide Rock, NE, Devin Walentine of Nebraska City, NE, Garrett (Melissa) Klutts of Logan, IA, Katherine Turner of Omaha, NE, Chris Turner of Omaha, Sydney (Tony) Liston of Council Bluffs, IA, Danielle Turner of Oakland; her great grandchildren: Zane Anderson, Bella Klutts, Chandler Klutts, and Turner Klutts; her special friend Phyllis Lehr of Lincoln, NE; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Congregational Church in Oakland. The family will meet with friends on Monday, September 5, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Oakland. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
