Arvis Arthetta (Saxton) McKeane, the daughter of Oliver and Erma (Johnson) Saxton, was born February 27, 1927, in Anita, Iowa, and died August 12, 2022, at The Homestead in Anoka, Minnesota.
She attended rural schools near Anita and graduated from Anita High School with the class of 1945. Following graduation, she taught at a rural school, Benton #1. One day, her future husband came to pick up his nieces and nephews from school with a horse and wagon. He asked the teacher if she wanted a ride as well.
On June 23, 1946, she was united in marriage to Paul W. McKeane at the Methodist Parsonage in Atlantic, Iowa. They were blessed with two daughters and lived for many years in Atlantic and Marne, Iowa. They retired to Mission, Texas. Paul preceded her in death on September 10, 2000.
She married Daniel Campbell on February 15, 2003, in Mission, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2015. Following his death, she moved to Anoka, Minnesota, to be closer to great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Robert and Russel; her sisters, Neva Smith and Letha Mae Josephsen; and step children, Wayne Campbell, Patricia Adams, and Thomas Campbell.
Arvis was a member of the Atlantic United Methodist Church and a long-time employee of Wells Fargo Bank in Atlantic. She enjoyed crocheting, genealogy, boating, water-skiing, traveling, and dancing. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the lights of her life.
Survivors include her daughters and spouses Colleen (Bill) Hunt, Denise (Steve) Herrington; stepdaughter and spouse Kathie (Brad) Skeel; step daughter-in-law Roberta Campbell; grandchildren and spouses, Sarah (Adam) Hanson, Emily (Nathan) Uhl, Jake Herrington, Ross Herrington, and Alex Herrington; great grandchildren, Garret and Lana Hanson and Lily and Claire Uhl; step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Memorials may be directed to Allina Health Hospice Foundation or to donated to a charity of the donor's choice.
