Aril E. "Bud" Hudman

Aril E. "Bud" Hudman, age 87, of Oakland, IA passed away May 5, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA.

Bud was born June 22, 1922 in Cloudcroft, NM to Jesse and Bessie (Scott) Hudman. He was united in marriage to Beverly Landon on May 16, 1945. Bud served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He retired from the Navy as an E-9 Master Chief after 22 years of service. He spent his retirement in Albuquerque, NM and moved to Oakland May 2, 2009.

Bud's life revolved around his family. In his early years he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and golf. He enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and Aggravation. Bud was also very proud of his yard and all of his beautiful flowers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Emmett and Bill.

Bud is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beverly Hudman of Oakland; daughters Sherry Feaster and husband Harvey of San Diego, CA and Leslie Schueman and husband Mark of Oakland, IA; his grandchildren: Gina Correll and husband Jim of Costa Rica, Bill Marks of San Diego, Niki Ford and husband Kevin of Oakland, and Stacie Kinnison and husband Shane of Omaha: his great grandchildren: Tyler, Reagan, Maalaea, Lacie, Tanner, Kenna Rae, and Noah; his brothers, Jess and Lee; and his sister Francis. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland. Military Honors will take place immediately following the memorial service. Interment will be held at a later date.
