Obituary

Alan Frank, 50, of the Lyman area rural Griswold, IA, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.

Alan Lee Frank was born at Greenfield, IA, on February 27, 1960, the son of Boyd Eugene and Georgia Ann (Courcier) Frank. He attended Griswold schools into his senior year when he developed health problems and was forced to dropout. He later received his GED. Alan was a lifelong Lyman area resident and a lifelong dedicated farmer. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, antique tractors, old classic cars, and watching old western movies. In short, he enjoyed life and was a man of few words. He was a member of the Noble Center United Methodist Church.

Alan's father preceded him in death on September 4, 2001.

Survivors include his sons: Brandon "B.J." Frank and his wife Ann of Hartley, IA; and Zachary "Zach" Frank of Atlantic, IA; his grandchildren Haylee, Mia, and Aiden of Hartley; his mother Georgia Frank of Lyman; his brother Randall Frank and his wife Lynn of Lyman and his sister Kathryn Bolton and her husband Jerry of Lyman. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Private family graveside services will be held on Friday, August 20th at the Noble Center Cemetery south of Lyman, Pastor Bud Wiser officiating. Open visitation will be at the Duhn Funeral home in Griswold on Thursday. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is assisting the family with their arrangements.
