Agnes Keller, 70, of the Exira Care Center in Exira, IA, died Sunday evening March 15, 2009, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.

Agnes Cynthia Keller was born on June 4, 1938, at Atlantic, IA the daughter of Richard and Arlene Keller. At the age of 25 days, she entered the Glenwood State Hospital at Glenwood, IA where she lived until September 8, 1943 when she entered the Iowa School for the Blind at Vinton, IA. She returned to Glenwood in August of 1944. Sometime in the early 1960's, she moved to the Cass County Farm and in 1965 entered the Dennis Nursing Home in Atlantic. Agnes was baptized at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic on November 21, 1969. In February 1978, she moved to Hope Haven in Rock Valley, IA, and on April 12, 1979, returned to Atlantic and lived at Sunshine Home and later Willow Heights. She was employed by CASS Incorporated for nearly 10 years until the late 1980's. When her health failed in 2004, she became a resident of the Exira Care Center.

Agnes has no known survivors. Agnes had a very special friend, Hubert Perry of Griswold who preceded her in death.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 10:30 AM, Fr. Dan Siepker celebrant. Burial will be in the Pleasant Township Cemetery rural Griswold. Friends may call at the church one half hour before the service. There will be no visitation at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold.
