After Robert returned home, they lived on a farm north of Bird City for several years and moved into Bird City in 1962.
Ada worked at several different jobs for the Bird City School District for seventeen years. Serving as the clerk of the board, school secretary ten years, and school district treasurer and secretary for seven years. Ada enjoyed playing cards with neighbors and friends.
